Scientists from Edinburgh University claims that almost 40 thousand planets in our galaxy could be a potential home for aliens.

Researchers calculated that it is exactly 37,964 worlds in our galaxy sufficiently perfect for the life of other types of civilizations that have the same level of intelligence as well as humans.

Astrophysicist Duncan Forgan, a young scientist from Edinburgh, made a computer program which compared planets that are discovered until now, which helped to create a clear picture of how life forms can exist in the universe.

He took factors such as temperature and the presence of water and minerals on the planets in his calculations. Forgan believed that life forms that exist on other planets must be similar to human kind.

In interview for Telegraph he said that humans will need about 300 or 400 years more until they make contact with another intelligent creatures in Universe.

"I believe that the most correct information is that there are a total of 361 intelligent civilizations. We assume that they're similar to most civilizations that lived on Earth, but it is possible that they have larger proportion", said the young scientist.
