India unveiled plans about human-crew space mission Print E-mail

India revealed the plans about launching first human-crew space mission by the 2015 and first human-crew mission to the Moon by 2020.

K. Radhakrishnan, the official from Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) revealed during his speech at Indian Science Congress that India has serious plans about launching first human-crew mission to space by the 2015.

"This would be the first time that an Indian would travel to space on an Indian spacecraft, which ISRO hopes to build with its own technology", said Mr Radhakrishnan.

He said that ISRO has begun process of developing sophisticated versions of the PSLV launch vehicles.

The idea about human-crew space mission came after succesful launching of lunar space mission named Chandrayaan-I in 2008.

ISRO also unveiled their plans to launch mission to Mars by 2020.
