Japanese scientists have come to the great discovery in the human brain, they announced that they found "central to jealousy" i.e. the part of the brain which gives rise to a feeling of jealousy.

'Center for jealousy' is actually located in the same part of the brain where are located centers for the feeling of physical pain and scientists believe that they finally learned why the feeling of jealousy causes such pain.

This discovery will greatly assist psychologists and psychiatrists, and a variety of counseling, doctors said.

A few students participated in this research and their brains were scanned while they talked about their competitors or successful people amongst them.

During the research scientists noticed that activity is recorded in the same part of the brain where there are centers of physical pain.

"We now have a better understanding of the mechanism at work when people take pleasure in another's misfortune," said Hidehiko Takahashi, who led the research.
